April 25, 2008 the manufacturer of Digitek™ issued a recall due to the possibility that tablets with double thickness has been released. This overdose can lead to Digitalis Toxicity.

Digitek™
The prescription drug Digitek™ (digoxin) has been recalled by the pharmaceutical company, Actavis Totawa, because some of the Digitek™ (digoxin) tablets are believed to contain twice the approved level of the active ingredient. Digitek™ (digoxin) is used to treat heart failure and heart rhythm abnormalities. The affected Digitek™ (digoxin) tablets can lead to an accidental digitalis overdose and toxicity, which can cause nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure, bradycardia, other cardiac problems and even death. Patients taking Digitek™ (digoxin) should immediately contact their physician.
